Author's Biography

Edwidge Danticat emigrated from Haiti to New York City in 1981.

Danticat’s novels and short stories are about the culture and political unrest of her native land.

She writes with realism of the corruption, terror, and poverty, yet leaves you with a feeling of enduring hope and faith.
